Job Description


Main purpose of the job:

  • To facilitate, develop, and maintain positive relationships between the organization and its stakeholders, including study participants, partners, government, local communities, and other relevant parties
  • To link the research of the organization with the targeted community through effective communication, collaboration, and understanding between the organization and its stakeholders
Location:
  • Tshwane (Pretoria)
Key performance areas:
  • Identify and map stakeholders relevant to Climate Change and Health project objectives
  • Conduct thorough analysis to understand stakeholder interests, concerns, and influence
  • Develop and maintain positive relationships with various stakeholders, including community members, participants, and regulatory bodies
  • Establish, plan, organize, attend, and facilitate meetings with the Community Advisory Board (CAB) and relevant stakeholders
  • Analyse feedback to identify trends, concerns, and areas for improvement
  • Organize and participate in stakeholder meetings, workshops, focus groups, and other events to gather input and provide updates
  • Monitor the ongoing activities of the CAB
  • Facilitate open lines of communication and address concerns promptly
  • Design mechanisms to collect feedback from stakeholders about the projectxe2x80x99s activities and service provision
  • Supervise and coordinate activities of the community health workers
  • Amend study recruitment and retention SOP
  • Train community health workers on recruitment and retention SOP when needed
  • Organise community events
  • Maintain accurate records of stakeholder interactions, feedback, and engagement activities
  • Prepare regular reports on stakeholder engagement efforts and outcomes for internal and external stakeholders
  • Prepare meeting agendas and circulate minutes timeously
  • Compile reports to the Research Team, management, and donors as and when required
  • Compile and circulate the Weekly Plan
  • Compile daily, weekly, and monthly reports as needed
  • Perform duties per study Delegation of Authority Logs
  • Take ownership and accountability for tasks and demonstrate effective self-management
  • Follow through to ensure that quality and productivity standards of own work are consistently and accurately maintained
  • Maintain a positive attitude and respond openly to feedback
  • Take ownership of driving your own career development by participating in ongoing training and development activities such as forums, conferences, policy-setting workshops, etc.
Required minimum education and training:
  • Diploma in Communications, Public Relations, Business, Social Sciences, or a related field
  • Fluent in English and other African languages, specifically IsiZulu/Sotho
Required minimum work experience:
  • Proven experience in stakeholder engagement, community health development, research and programs implementation, or a related role
Desirable additional education, work experience, and personal abilities:
  • Bachelorxe2x80x99s in Communications, Public Relations, Business, Social Sciences, or a related field
  • Certification in Good Clinical Practice (GCP)
  • Experience in a research environment
  • Experience in the voluntary sector
  • Good communication skills (verbal and written) and ability to network with various stakeholders
  • Able to work independently and work as part of a multi-disciplinary team
  • Be tactful, respectful and maintain confidentiality
  • Be sensitive to diversity and open to change
  • Valid driverxe2x80x99s license
