SSA Logistics Specialist (Eastern Cape) Supply Chain/Logistics

ENVIRONMENT:
DRIVE After-Sales Supply Chain objectives while leading the development of programs and initiatives that build capacity, optimize lead times as the next SSA Logistics Specialist wanted by a Supplier of innovative customized products. You will coordinate SSA basket studies to ensure competitive parts pricing, monitor inventory demand and manage importer back orders while overseeing the delivery of targeted training solutions, including new model launches, compliance, and talent development initiatives. Applicants must possess a Bachelors Degree/National Diploma in Quality Management, Logistics/Supply Chain Management and Engineering with at least 3 years Automotive industry experience, particularly in Logistics. You will also require experience in global Supply Chain compliance and documentation, with ISO knowledge and project planning skills & be able to support international operations and Dealer engagements through regular travel.
DUTIES:

  • Drive After-Sales Supply Chain objectives by implementing, monitoring, and analysing key processes, while leading the development of programs and initiatives that build capacity, optimize lead times, and elevate customer satisfaction.
  • Recommend initial launch order quantities for SSA markets by analysing historical model data, benchmarking, and importer trends, incorporating Dealer feedback gathered through regional surveys and workshops during early planning phases.
  • Coordinate SSA basket studies to ensure competitive parts pricing and collaborate across departments to drive supply performance improvements.
  • Oversee the delivery of targeted training solutions, including new model launches, compliance, and talent development initiatives aligned with Group and Brand objectives.
  • Monitor inventory demand and manage importer back orders to meet stock availability targets.
  • Support outbound packaging operations to ensure compliance with importer and customs requirements.
  • Ensure accurate shipping and customs documentation in coordination with internal teams and inspection bodies.
  • Track international shipments in real-time to meet delivery deadlines and resolve exceptions.
  • Support inbound logistics by coordinating with SSA Warehouse teams to schedule and process deliveries efficiently.
  • Facilitate customs clearance and inbound logistics to ensure smooth delivery.
  • Analyse shipping data to guide cost-effective decisions.
  • Manage freight partners to meet service standards and support SSA Dealers in maintaining optimal inventory levels and parts availability.
  • Drive cost-efficiency by improving logistics processes, optimising shipping routes, and managing service provider performance.
  • Ensure bonded stock compliance and support customs clearance coordination.
  • Collaborate with SSA Dealers to maintain inventory targets and reduce obsolescence.
  • Monitor and initiate updates of processes in department via process audits to ensure conformance to ISO 9001 / VDA 6.1 standards and requirements.
  • Ensure full compliance with SSA import laws and automotive industry standards by staying updated with regional trade regulations.
  • Ongoing reviews take place monthly with legal and compliance teams, mostly at importer locations and regional hubs.
  • Ensure goods are correctly classified under appropriate HS codes to optimize tariff rates. This task is done by shipment verified by customs specialists before documentation is finalized.
REQUIREMENTS:
Qualifications
  • Bachelors Degree/National Diploma in Quality Management, Logistics/Supply Chain Management and Engineering.
Experience/Skills
  • A minimum of 3 years Automotive industry experience, particularly in Logistics
  • Possess a solid understanding of basic manufacturing lead time principles, quality systems, and warehouse operations.
  • Proficient in automotive import/export operations and logistics systems, with experience in trade compliance and coordinating cross-border parts movement with key stakeholders.
  • Experienced in global Supply Chain compliance and documentation, with ISO knowledge and project planning skills. Able to support international operations and Dealer engagements through regular travel.
  • Computer literacy (MS Outlook, Excel, Power BI, PowerPoint, and Word) Intermediate Advanced.
Advantageous
  • Skilled in automotive import/export operations, trade compliance, and logistics systems (EPIS, ETKA, ET2000, EWM).
  • Experienced in coordinating cross-border movement of parts with OEMs, suppliers, and authorities.
