Job Description


Our client based in Woodmead Johannesburg is looking to appoint a meticulous inventory controller to manage the inventory for the company. In this role, you will be required to coordinate orders and deliveries, perform regular inventory audits and analyses, and forecast the supply and demand requirements to ensure consistent stock levels.

EDUCATION:
  • Ideally to be in possession or studying towards a related tertiary education qualification
  • Minimum qualification - Matric
  • Minimum of 5 years experience in an Inventory/Warehouse Management environment working in Inventory Control
  • Experience in 3rd party inventory management
  • Experience in purchasing processes
  • Experience operating PC workstation in a Windows environment. Proficient in word processing, spreadsheet and graphics

EXPERIENCE:
  • Minimum 5 years experience in an inventory / warehouse management environment
  • Experience in 3rd party inventory management
  • Experience in purchasing processes
  • Responsible for daily Inventory Control activities and support within South Africa making sure that physical inventory and system (Oracle) inventory is matches in location SF1 (Expeditors) and all local QRCxe2x80x99s within South Africa.
  • Matching should be based real time accuracy and continuously.
  • Execute all inventory activities according to policies and procedures ensuring compliancy to legal, regional and local requirements
  • Provide support in case of questions and support in training ensuring a sufficient level of (system) knowledge of all people who have influence on inventory accuracy
  • Execute, advice and escalate on inventory related topics including country scans.
  • Perform proactive communication about stock situations/ issues/ risks to stakeholders, (Sr Management, Sales and Marketing team. Member Services team, Logistic team).
  • Propose & implement process improvements to increase service levels, efficiency and effectiveness.
  • Responsible for the direct inventory support and inventory maintenance on Oracle for SF1 (Expeditors) and all local QRCxe2x80x99s, which involves training of logistics and warehouse personnel, cycle counts, resupply order requests, inventory adjustments, back order reports, PAIRS 2, country scan, updating and physical inventories.
  • Performs inventory maintenance on Oracle, which includes issuance and receipts of resupply orders and purchase orders, set-up and maintenance of cycle counts and min max reports and coordination and participation of physical inventory counts. Reports discrepancies as required for per EMEA procedures.
  • Performs daily checks in order to align Inventory stock records via Stock Reconciliation and exception reporting. Analyze, report and implement improvement options/ corrective actions. Escalate if needed.
  • Proactively inform, communicate or even escalate any Inventory control issue with relevant parties (South Africa Management, Inventory (planning) coordinator, import and export representative etc)
  • Ensure that third party contractors follow the EMEA inventory control procedures for all locations of responsibility. This procedure includes, daily activity report, receiving report, movement report, kit assembly report, stock adjustment report, promotion and entertainment report, buy back report, destruction and disposal report, and cycle count report as required. Updates inventory operating system (oracle) daily.
  • Ensure ATS, P&E, buy backs and disposal requests are handled in a timely and correct manner in accordance to the applicable procedures.
  • Ensure that procedures are executed in relation to potential expiring stock including informing marketing/ management team in time about potential expiring stock
  • Reviews on a weekly / monthly basis third party contractor inventory reports against Oracle on-hand inventory report to ensure accuracy and integrity are being maintained. Investigates all discrepancies, reports findings and makes necessary corrections on Oracle.
  • Continuously maintains and updates own Oracle/ system knowledge and ensures sufficient knowledge is available in all locations. Advices on training, support with training to local staff and support in development/ maintaining training manuals
  • Coordinates with EMEA planning (Venray) for all new product releases ensuring new products are available on time for scheduled launch. Plans and coordinates new products releases with third party contractors and/or in-country warehouses and ensure the products are available for member order at the right time.
  • Compiles, maintains and provides statistical data to senior and local management, material control and EMEA inventory management upon request. Communicates any and all inventory issues. Further ensures inventory levels are maintained that support business needs, but prevents obsolescence, rework and write offs.
  • Actively participates in Africa/ EMEA inventory management meetings, to trouble shoot, evaluate, and solve inventory control issues across the region.
  • Ensure any deviations are reported directly and correctly and appropriate corrective actions are taken are taken.
  • Execute all activities in full compliance with all corporate policies and guidelines (SOX, T&E policy, authorization levels, compliance, Health and Safety, filing requirements, etc.) in close cooperation with supervisor. Proactively takes actions to avoid future shortages and communicates risks. Maintain and evaluates (system setting related) inventory levels in support of planning.
