Duties & Responsibilities:

• Develop complex T-SQL queries, stored procedures, and triggers.
• Assist with the design of relational database architecture for new development projects.
• Develop new or alter existing SQL objects based on requirements.
• Troubleshoot failing SQL objects and support the development team in optimizing application performance using SQL Profiler.
• Service business requests, including process changes and ad hoc data queries.
• Develop according to established coding standards and processes.
• Collaborate with Business Analysts to define scope, track milestones, prioritize tasks, and report progress.
• Work with Business Analysts to identify and understand source data systems.
• Contribute to all phases of the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC), from requirements gathering to deployment.
• Investigate and resolve production issues.
• Develop and test extraction, transformation, and load (ETL) processes.
• Support production databases.

Desired Experience & Qualifications:

• Relevant tertiary qualification in Information Technology, Computer Science, Engineering, or Mathematical Sciences.
• Relevant Microsoft Certification (SQL Developer/Azure) is beneficial.
• Minimum of 2 years of experience as an Intermediate SQL Developer in a team-based software development environment.
• Ability to work effectively in a team: follow mentorship, provide mentorship, and collaborate on common design models.
• Strong understanding of SDLC processes, tools, and techniques.
• Experience working with security-sensitive data is advantageous.

Skills and Knowledge Requirements:

• Knowledge of security vulnerabilities and their impact on solutions.
• Expertise in Microsoft SQL Server, including:

• Relational database design principles.
• SQL Server Administration.
• SQL OLTP development, query optimization, and analysis.
• Database object design.
• XML and JSON structures (beneficial).
• Basic understanding of front-end languages such as HTML, CSS, and JavaScript is beneficial.
• Ability to deliver production-quality software with attention to detail, extensive unit testing, and support for quality testing phases.

Knowledge and Experience with the Following Toolsets:

• SQL Server Management Studio 2012 and above.
• SQL Profiler (beneficial).
• Basic knowledge of cloud services such as Azure or AWS (beneficial).
• Strong understanding of data integrity and security best practices.
• Hands-on experience in exception handling and troubleshooting.
• Experience troubleshooting slow-running queries and profiling performance issues (beneficial).
