Our Client a Global tech firm is seeking a SQL DBA to join their team in Johannesburg on a contract basis. They offer stability, growth, attractive rates and a great working environment.
Responsibilities:

• Install, maintain, and upgrade SQL Server instances: Ensure that all database environments are deployed, maintained, and managed.
• Develop and implement database security policies: Protect sensitive data by establishing and enforcing security measures.
• Monitor system performance: Identify bottlenecks and optimize operations for smooth performance.
• Design and implement backup strategies: Create disaster recovery processes and failover systems to ensure data integrity.
• Perform regular database audits: Identify irregularities or potential security breaches.
• Manage database backup and recovery: Ensure data is backed up regularly and can be restored efficiently.
• Support database users and developers: Provide technical support and training as needed.
• Collaborate with IT and business analysts: Work closely with other teams to support database-related needs and projects.

• Education: Bachelors or Masters degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field.
• Experience: Proven experience in database administration, backup and recovery, performance tuning, and security.

• Proficiency with SQL Server and database management tools.
• Strong understanding of database architecture and administration.
• Experience with backup and recovery procedures, performance tuning, and security.
• Excellent problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.
• Ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams
