Minimum Requirements

Relevant Qualification (NQF 7) in Sport Science, Human Movement Science, or relevant qualifications A minimum of three (3)years' experience in the Sport Science industry.

Additional Recommendation

Candidates with an Honours and Master's qualification will be given preference. Possession of an additional strength and conditioning certification (e.g., NSCA, ETA, or equivalent) would be advantageous. Proven experience in programme prescription and design across various sporting codes. Knowledge and hands-on experience with high-performance, scientific testing and training equipment, such as VO2 max assessments, Cybex evaluations, Functional Movement Screening (FMS), and GPS analysis.

Summary of Duties

Support academic staff in conducting practical training and assessments in the laboratory, sports field, and gymnasium environment. Enhance the department's delivery of high-quality teaching and learning with a strong focus on developing practical skills. Assess and evaluate high-performance athletes using a variety of lab-based and field-based protocols Design and implement individualised and team-based training programmes based on scientific principles and tailored to athletes' needs. Assist in various research projects in the Department. Demonstrate effective communication skills, strong leadership abilities, and excellent management and administrative skills. Collaborate with coaches and other specialists to foster a holistic approach to athlete development.
