PURPOSE OF THE ROLE?



The Specifications Business Developer is the sales front-line. This person is responsible for a considerable proportion of revenue and for a considerable proportion of the organization's growth. This is an exciting role. Team members are well supported, receive direct feedback on their efforts, and have ample opportunities for advancement. Your purpose is to maintain and grow our revenue base by:


Winning specifications, Winning projects (both specified and non-specified)

Your singular responsibility is to generate sales (Throughput or contribution margin). In practice, this requires that you maximize your velocity of open opportunities (the rate at which they progress from stage to stage).


Sales / Client engagement: + Sell B_ portfolio of commercial soft flooring and sport surface solutions to architects, designers, builders, and end-users in the relevant Market segments.
+ Help stakeholders choose the right product for their needs and budget.
+ Your end goal will be to get Belgotex specified in the tender brief or substituted by the builder at time of installation.
+ Where projects do not go through a tender process, your goal will be to engage with project stakeholders aiming to secure Belgotex products for the project via specification.
Project Co-ordination:
+ Monitor the progress of each project, and keep stakeholders (internal and external) informed throughout the project lifecycle
+ You are required to record all client contact in real time on CRM
+ You are required to keep CRM updated for forecasting
+ You need to maintain the CRM stakeholder database and project pipeline to ensure it accurately reflects pipeline health and provides the business with reliable information for forecasting.
Product Competence: + Attend Ongoing product training.
+ In your area of expertise in either a market segment or product category, you will be called on as a subject matter expert into Engineering to have input into new product development, recolouring of ranges and new product categories into the business
Relationship management: + Ensure that You do not pursue short-term sales results at the expense of longer-term client relationships

Team Collaboration

+ You will be required to work closely with a dedicated marketing and research team that will give you a steady supply of project leads and an efficient customer service team who will handle quoting, orders, and post-delivery logistic questions on your behalf
+ Strive to maintain relationships with other team members and ensure that this is productive and free from conflict
+ In addition to promotional activities, you will also be required to: Participate in short daily WIP meetings
Reporting: + Report against agreed KPI goals to reflect performance
+ Monthly performance analysed; necessary plans put in place to correct if required with detailed commentary supplied.
+ Work with the Commercial team to develop clear short- and long-term action plans to address variances to achieve sales margins, growth, and revenue targets by using leading indicators and short interval control, monitoring and re correcting techniques
+ Develop and implement your continuous improvement (IGP) processes to improve output, reduce variability and manage constraints
+ All opportunity meetings and project updates are recorded accurately and recorded in CRM timeously



Grade 12 / Matric with mathematics or math literacy. At least 3-5 years relevant sales experience in a similar role within a relevant industry is essential. Be able to articulate products and services to perfection. You must be comfortable with a lot of things going on at any one time and able to communicate with a wide variety of people. Experience working in a CRM system and Microsoft packages is essential. Excellent time management skills to execute our daily tasks Ability to plan and organize your priorities and calendar. Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to converse at all levels but especially strong and effective in digital and online communication platforms.
