Europcar has an opportunity for a Graphic Designer who is highly organized and driven to support the Marketing Manager with all the creative, branding and sponsorship activities within the marketing department. The Graphic Designer will be based in Bruma, Johannesburg.
Position Overview
The purpose of the position is to manage and co-ordinate Europcar & Tempest Car Hire (hereinafter referred to as the brands) graphic design and illustration requirements. We are looking for a creative, innovative, and mid-level designer to take ownership of the content creation and visual design components of our marketing material, website, newsletters and digital marketing assets.It will be advantageous if the candidate has some experience with video-editing and multi-media.
Specific Role Responsibilities
Job Outputs:
Ability to interact, communicate and present ideas.
Collaborating with the marketing team members to understand needs, review briefs, design storyboards, and create and edit designs and visual effects.
Work with the marketing team to brainstorm new initiatives, strategic idea generation, seasonal campaigns, and forward planning.
Copywriting skills and an understanding of digital copywriting will be advantageous.
Using software and other techniques to produce designs and visual effects.
Listening to feedback and altering designs to better suit the teamxe2x80x99s needs.
Using creativity and artistic techniques to tell a story or provide information in visual form.
Researching industry trends and developments and learning new applications.
Planning concepts by studying relevant information and materials.
Illustrating concepts by designing examples of art arrangement, size, type size and style.
Preparing finished art by operating necessary equipment and software.
Coordinating with outside agencies, art services, web designers/development team, marketing, printers, and colleagues as necessary.
Communicating with marketing about layout and design, reviewing final layouts and suggesting improvements when necessary.
You will be required to create a broad range of graphics and layout for the brands, including but not limited to:

Corporate Stationery
Websites
Google Banners
Email Banners
Emailers
Location Bank Campaign Imagery
Design all creative assets in a variety of specs suitable for each social media platform, including Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn, Twitter, TikTok & YouTube.

Company profiles
Tender documents
Qualifications and Experience
Minimum Requirements:
Bachelorxe2x80x99s degree in graphic design or related field.
2 - 5 yearsxe2x80x99 experience as a graphic designer.
Demonstrable graphic design skills with a strong portfolio.
Proficiency with required desktop publishing tools, including the Full Adobe Suite (Photoshop, InDesign, Illustrator, Animate, Dreamweaver), as well as office tools PowerPoint, Word, Excel.
A strong eye for visual composition.
Ability to follow and correctly apply the brand CI. Ensuring that the final product aligns with the brand CI, project objectives and is delivered on time.
Ensuring brand consistency and alignment across all marketing channels.
Understanding of marketing, production, website & digital design, corporate identity, product packaging, advertisements, outdoor, campaigns, corporate stationery, and multimedia design.
Knowledge of printing, file types, colours, paper, materials, dies, lighting.
Possession of creative flair, versatility, conceptual/visual ability, and originality. The ability to think out of the box.
