Name of the Role: Specialist Digital Technology
Based: Johannesburg Office, Rosebank
Reports to: Manager ICT
Objective of the role
To support the Commodity Manager by providing information, analysis, and documentation to enable effective negotiation processes with vendors and strengthen internal stakeholder engagement.
Role Accountabilities

  • Support the Commodity Manager in contract negotiation, planning, and administration across the full contract lifecycle.
  • Manage contracts to ensure compliance, risk mitigation, and continuous improvement of sourcing outcomes.
  • Maintain and enforce SOX compliance controls throughout procurement and contract management activities.
  • Conduct supplier analysis, performance reviews, and capability assessments to support sourcing decisions.
  • Develop and execute sourcing strategies within assigned technology portfolios (Software, Hardware, ICT Services, and Networks).
  • Facilitate effective stakeholder engagement and communication between business, technical, and procurement teams.
  • Collaborate with Legal to ensure adherence to contract standards, legislation, and company policies.
  • Oversee supplier relationship management to ensure sustainable delivery and service excellence.
  • Monitor and optimise spend through contract renewals, amendments, and automation in SAP.
  • Prepare negotiation materials and commercial reports to support data-driven decision-making.
Technical / Functional Responsibilities
  • Apply technical and commercial expertise to deliver high-quality results within required timelines.
  • Manage RFP processes and perform detailed supplier and market analysis.
  • Support contract development, execution, and relationship management.
  • Demonstrate strong knowledge of:
  • Software: licensing, subscriptions, maintenance, and support.
  • Hardware: specifications, lifecycle, support, and warranties.
  • Technical Services: outsourcing, development, and implementations.
  • Evaluate total cost of ownership (TCO) and key financial drivers.
  • Communicate effectively, influence outcomes, and uphold integrity.
  • Plan, prioritise, and resolve issues while maintaining customer focus.
  • Ensure adherence to governance and SOX compliance controls.
Education & Qualification
  • Diploma or Degree in either Business Management/Finance/Computer Science/Supply Chain
General Knowledge & Experience
  • 3-5 years experience in a similar field
  • Commercial expertise in software, hardware, and technical services
  • RFP/RFQ/RFI management, contract negotiation, stakeholder engagement, and financial analysis, with a focus on compliance, communication, and problem-solving.
Remuneration
  • As per the AGA salary scales.
