Specialised Sales Representative
to join our team. This position is based in
Gauteng.

Job Overview:
Purpose of the job:
Plays a crucial role by promoting and marketing the company's products using technical and industry knowledge to healthcare professionals. Responsible for building relationships with doctors, specialists, pharmacists, and healthcare institutions to increase product awareness and sales. This involves conducting presentations, attending conferences, and staying updated on industry developments.
Key Responsibilities:
Sales & Target Achievement:
Achieve or exceed monthly, quarterly, and annual sales targets.
Implement territory business plans aligned with company strategy.
Manage and optimize product access within hospital formularies and procurement committees.
Product Detailing & Promotion:
Conduct scientific detailing of assigned products to specialist physicians, hospital pharmacists, and other key stakeholders.
Deliver high-quality product presentations based on clinical evidence.
Position products as preferred treatment options in line with clinical data and guidelines.
Stakeholder Engagement:
Build strong relationships with specialists, hospital pharmacists, procurement managers, and nursing staff.
Organize and facilitate scientific meetings, symposia, and CPD-accredited events.
Identify and develop Key Opinion Leaders (KOLs) within assigned therapeutic area(s).
Market Intelligence:
Monitor competitor activity, new product launches, and market dynamics within the hospital sector.
Provide timely feedback to management on market insights, trends, and opportunities.
Maintain accurate records of interactions and customer profiles using CRM systems.
Compliance & Ethics:
Adhere to the Medicines and Related Substances Act, SAMED Code of Marketing Practice, and company compliance standards.
Promote products responsibly with evidence-based information.
Ensure all promotional and marketing activities comply with internal and external regulations.
Desired skills, experience and qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Life Sciences (Pharmacy, Nursing, Biomedical Sciences, Physiology, etc.) OR Relevant commercial qualification (e.g., Marketing, Business) with strong medical background.
Minimum 5-7 years' experience as a Pharmaceutical Representative in specialist or hospital sales.
Proven track record of achieving sales targets.
Experience in therapeutic areas such as oncology, cardiology, psychiatry, and endocrinology.
Strong scientific knowledge and ability to interpret clinical data.
Excellent communication and presentation skills (written & verbal).
Negotiation and persuasive selling ability.
Relationship-building with specialists and hospital decision-makers.
High level of business acumen and strategic thinking.
Strong organizational and territory management skills.
Proficiency in MS Office and CRM software.
Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
Adapt into a culturally diverse work environment.
Possess honesty, integrity, passion for the work.
