Job Summary Join Our Culinary Team at Ostra, Champagne & Oyster Bar and Mediterranean Social Club Position: Sous Chef Ostra, a distinguished Champagne & Oyster Bar and vibrant Mediterranean Social Club, is seeking an experienced and innovative Sous Chef to join our esteemed culinary team. As a pivotal support to our Executive Chef, the Sous Chef will help lead our kitchen operations and contribute to our reputation for exceptional Mediterranean-inspired cuisine. Situated in the heart of the Hazelwood, Ostra offers a unique blend of lively social atmosphere and culinary excellence. Key Responsibilities: xe2x80xa2 Assist the Executive Chef in all aspects of kitchen management, including menu planning and ingredient selection. xe2x80xa2 Ensure the highest quality of food preparation and presentation. xe2x80xa2 Supervise and coordinate the activities of the kitchen staff to ensure efficient and harmonious operations. xe2x80xa2 Manage inventory, order supplies, and maintain budget and quality standards. xe2x80xa2 Train and mentor kitchen staff, fostering a culture of learning and excellence. xe2x80xa2 Enforce strict health, hygiene, and safety standards in all cooking and food storage areas. xe2x80xa2 Handle daily administrative tasks, including scheduling, and contribute to performance evaluations. xe2x80xa2 Develop new dishes and update menu offerings based on seasonal availability and current trends. xe2x80xa2 Address and resolve any issues related to staff or food quality, ensuring a seamless dining experience for guests. xe2x80xa2 Prepare and report on food costs, optimizing expenses while maintaining quality. Qualifications: xe2x80xa2 Diploma in Culinary Arts from an accredited institution. xe2x80xa2 Proven experience as a Sous Chef in high-end restaurants or with Michelin star exposure. xe2x80xa2 Strong knowledge of Mediterranean cuisine and advanced cooking techniques. xe2x80xa2 Excellent leadership, time management, and organizational skills. xe2x80xa2 Ability to thrive in a high-pressure environment while maintaining creativity and attention to detail. xe2x80xa2 Passionate about food and delivering outstanding guest experiences.
