Kendrick Recruitment is currently seeking a skilled and experienced Sous Chef to join a luxury tented camp based in the Timbavati Private Game Reserve. This is an exciting opportunity for a culinary professional who thrives in a remote, hospitality-focused environment.
Minimum Requirements:
Recognised Chef qualification or certificate
Minimum 5 years' experience running a kitchen, preferably in a lodge or safari camp setting
Strong knowledge of health and safety standards and food hygiene protocols
Proven experience in stock taking, ordering, and kitchen administration
Excellent staff management and communication skills
Ability to prepare traditional, family-style meals aligned with the camp's culinary theme
Creative, adaptable, and able to work under pressure
Key Responsibilities:
Oversee day-to-day kitchen operations
Plan and prepare meals for guests and staff
Maintain hygiene and safety standards at all times
Manage kitchen staff, ensuring efficient service
Monitor stock levels and place orders as needed
Ensure quality, consistency, and presentation in all meals served
The ideal candidate will be passionate about creating wholesome and flavourful meals in a remote setting, while maintaining a high standard of organisation and leadership within the kitchen.
