Sourcing and Contracting Specialist (Mining / Procurement / Supply Chain / Contracts / Negotiations) - GautengFull job descriptionReference No. 624 2410 MHUReference Number: 624 2410 MHU:Our client is a mining company with operations outside of South Africa who require a Sourcing and Contracting Specialist that will be responsible for the planning and execution of sourcing activities to select suppliers capable of fulfilling Company needs, and for the on-going stewardship of particular categories of external spend.Responsibilities:Contribute to category planning through: Category segmentation, spend analysis, cost driver analysis and strategic positioning; Understanding the categoryxe2x80x99s global supply base , with a focus on low-cost-country, foreign sourcing and Local sourcing; Developing a forward view of business requirements, identifying emerging technologies, suppliers, continuous improvement and other opportunities that may deliver value to Company.Provide category insights where required, to support business decisions including project development, M&A, financial forecasting and other similar activities.Ongoing planning of major market engagements, including review of expiring contracts and prioritisation of category plan initiatives, including loading of planned activities in Companyxe2x80x99s on-line platform (Ariba)Identify and mitigate operational and commercial risks through high quality contract drafting, including incorporation of KPIxe2x80x99s and other performance mechanisms.Plan and execute negotiation strategies to improve outcomes from market engagements.Facilitate and participate in the evaluation of supplier proposals.Identify trade-offs and facilitate decision making for supplier selection.Concisely capture in governance documentation why particular sourcing outcomes are recommended, including evaluation and quantification of capability, cost and risk.In conjunction with legal counsel, draft and execute contract documents.Contributing to the review and development of engaging cross-functional peers to identify and implement new and improved processes and disciplines for Supply ChainBuilding and maintaining strong relationships with internal customers, peers and external partnersContributing to achievement of targets across the overall Supply Chain indexDemonstrate safe behaviour at all times and comply with SHEC standards and procedures.Demonstrate leadership in SHEC through personal behaviours and conversationsRequirements: Qualification and SkillDegree qualified in a Commercial/Business discipline or EngineeringAt least 5 yearsxe2x80x99 experience in Procurement or Supply Chain Sourcing roles within the mining industryExperience in strategic sourcing and developing commercial arrangements and capture of outcomes in contract documentationProven ability to identify and deliver total cost reduction and efficiency opportunitiesAbility to plan, prioritise, and adapt to changing requirementsAbility to plan and execute sourcing activities and negotiation strategiesGood proficiency of SAP, Ariba or similar ERP system(s) to complete sourcing activitiesStrong written communication skills, with a particular focus on: High quality drafting of contracts and associated schedules; Documenting concise and compelling recommendations and other governance documentsStrong customer orientationBenefits and Contractual information:Permanent opportunityIf you wish to apply for the position, please send your CV to mhuber@camining.comPlease visit www.camining.com or www.mining-recruitment-jobs.com for more exciting opportunities.Mark HuberManaging Lead xe2x80x93 Executive Mining RecruitmentCA MiningCA Mining will respond to short-listed candidates only.
