Provide expert wine recommendations and food pairings to guests, enhancing the overall dining experience.
Conduct regular wine tastings and staff training to ensure knowledgeable and confident wine service across the team.
Monitor wine inventory, place orders, manage storage, and maintain optimal stock levels.
Establish and maintain relationships with wine suppliers, distributors, and producers.
Stay current with wine trends, vintages, regions, and industry developments to continuously refine the wine program.
Ensure wine service adheres to fine dining standards, including decanting, proper glassware, temperature control, and presentation.
Assist in creating wine pairing menus for tasting menus, special events, and private functions.
Maintain accurate wine sales and inventory records for reporting and forecasting.
Requirements:
Minimum of
3 years
of relevant experience in a fine dining or high-end hospitality environment.
WSET Level 2
(or equivalent certification) required; Level 3 or Court of Master Sommeliers certifications a plus.
Extensive knowledge of global wine regions, varietals, and vintages.
Outstanding communication and interpersonal skills with a strong guest service orientation.
Professional demeanor, well-groomed appearance, and attention to detail.
Ability to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as required.
Physically able to lift wine cases and stand for extended periods.
