A leading organisation is seeking an experienced IA Solution Architect to lead the design and implementation of intelligent automation solutions. This role is ideal for someone who thrives in a strategic, cross-functional environment and is passionate about driving innovation through automation, architecture, and business transformation.

You'll be responsible for formulating business cases, designing automation solutions, and guiding implementation through architectural frameworks. This role involves leading solution development teams, engaging with stakeholders, and contributing to the organisation's digital strategy. You'll also play a key role in change management, capability alignment, and continuous improvement across automation initiatives.
Key Responsibilities

• Formulate business cases for automation initiatives
• Design and validate automation solutions using PBMD, Pre-PDD, and test cycle governance
• Lead solution development teams including business users, analysts, and developers
• Research and evaluate intelligent automation technologies aligned to digital strategy
• Drive organisational change management for automation initiatives
• Engage and influence key stakeholders and leadership
• Present business cases to Intelligent Automation Steercom (IAS)
• Plan, lead, and coordinate automation projects
• Provide ongoing system improvement support
• Monitor and test systems for performance and efficiency
• Support cost-effective process development and ROI analysis
• Promote customer-centric delivery across departments
• Maintain professional accreditation and CPD
• Provide specialist support to projects and committees

Position-Specific Outputs

• Identify and document business requirements for automation
• Create automation hypotheses and assess opportunities
• Compile Preliminary Business Motivation Documents (PBMD)
• Align automation initiatives with governance criteria and business models
• Develop KPIs for automation aligned to ROI strategy
• Create and manage the automation pipeline for planning and budgeting
• Research and assess emerging technologies (AI, ML, Hyper-automation, etc.)
• Conduct Proof of Concept and Proof of Value initiatives
• Collaborate with forums and stakeholders to identify use cases
• Develop test strategies and automated testing solutions
• Create test cases and sign-off documentation aligned to UAT strategy

Job Experience and Skills Required

• 5-10 years' experience in the medical aid or insurance industry
• At least 3 years in an automation Business Analyst role
• Experience with automation technologies
• Management experience or relevant qualification (advantageous)
• 5 years of SDLC experience including BusDevOps and UAT
• Experience with Blue Prints, PBMD, and business case frameworks
• Knowledge of automation lifecycle and governance models
• Ability to lead cross-functional teams and drive strategic initiatives
• Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills

Qualifications

• Relevant degree or diploma
• ITIL programmes
• Business Analyst certification
• Project management qualification (advantageous)
