Software Test Specialist Tester/Trainer
Stellenbosch - Western Cape - South AfricaWe are seeking a motivated and experienced Software Test Specialist to join a team in Stellenbosch, on a 6-month contract. You will play a key role in enhancing the test infrastructure for the system, focusing on test automation and optimization. Minimum of 4 years of experience as a Software Test Specialist or a related role. Strong understanding of software testing principles and methodologies, including manual and automated testing with experience in test plan development and execution. Experience with BitBucket and Jenkins with Python and Angular as an advantage.Type: 6-month ContractArea: Onsite to Hybrid in StellenboschRate: Highly negotiable per hourResponsibilities:

• Collaborate with developers and other stakeholders to understand the functionalities of the system.
• Compile a comprehensive test plan, consolidating existing tests and identifying opportunities for automation.
• Design and develop automated test scripts using appropriate tools and frameworks.
• Execute manual and automated tests to identify and report software defects.
• Conduct robustness and boundary testing to ensure system stability and reliability.
• Set up and maintain automated testing pipelines using tools like BitBucket.
• Explore and potentially implement a test conductor tool like Jenkins.
• Document testing activities and test results.
• Participate in sprint planning and retrospectives.

Qualifications:

• Minimum of 4 years of experience as a Software Test Specialist or a related role.
• Strong understanding of software testing principles and methodologies, including manual and automated testing.
• Experience in test plan development and execution.
• Experience in designing and developing automated test scripts using scripting languages like Python.
• Familiarity with test automation frameworks and tools, preferably experience with BitBucket. (Experience with Jenkins a bonus)
• Knowledge of software development lifecycle (SDLC) and Agile methodologies.
• Angular experience is beneficial.
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
