Job Description

We are looking for a Software Engineering Intern that is interested in gaining experience in building real-world, high performance data driven applications. Using our stack which includes Django, React, Relay, Graphene and Postgresql.





This exciting opportunity allows you to work closely with the web product team as they do feature development on the CONNECT Web Platform.





DataProphet CONNECT is a real-time Industrial IoT platform, enabling manufacturers and machine builders to stream live data into the platform, perform compute on the data and visualize everything through an interactive frontend. This platform consumes billions of data-points per week from multiple factories and foundries around the world.





This role requires an understanding of web applications and systems, user interface complexities, and a degree of autonomy in your daily tasks.

What you will be doing at DataProphet:

Systems & software engineering focused role assisting the Web team in Product development. Working on the full spectrum of a modern web app; with state of the art features that fetch large data sets at high rates. Enabling our users to view and analyze their data seamlessly. Engaging with the Engineering team on the problems and solutions they face daily in building out the platform. Contributing to the development by owning a part of the stack and building useful features for our users.

Qualifications & Experience

Essential:


Preferably a degree in science, engineering or computer science. Alternatively a certificate from a similar institution would suffice with a solid portfolio. Proficiency in Python, Javascript or React Experience using APIs Comfortable with coding best practices, including automated testing & git workflows.




Nice to have:


Knowledge of relational databases and SQL. Working with public cloud providers (AWS, GCP, Azure, Alibaba). Experience with modern (hooks based) React + Relay + GraphQL. Experience working with Django, and/or FastAPI or Flask. A solid grasp of responsive design and mobile concepts. Comfortable working with Docker, Linux, and remote systems.
