Software Engineer (backend Leaning Fullstack) – Hybrid

Job Description
Our client is a data-driven technology company working across Python, TypeScript, Rust, Java and PHP. They build internal tools, backend services and APIs that support data-heavy systems. They are looking for a backend-leaning fullstack developer who is adaptable, enjoys solving problems and can work across different languages as needed. This is a hybrid role based in Modderfontein, with three days per week in the office.
Duties & Responsibilities
- Develop and maintain backend services, APIs and system components
- Work with data flows, processing logic and integrations
- Assist with fullstack development where required
- Debug, optimise and improve existing systems
- Collaborate with the engineering team to deliver reliable solutions
- Contribute to technical problem-solving and feature planning
- Experience working with Python, Typescript, Java, Rust and PHP
- Strong understanding of backend development, APIs and data structures
- Able to work across multiple languages and adapt to different project requirements
- Degree required: BSc Computer Science, BSc Information Technology, BCom Informatics or BSc Informatics or similar.
