About the job
As an SDET in the Quality Engineering team, your main responsibility is to build out our automated test efforts and test processes in the domain you support. Your role will revolve around automating critical API flows, coaching developers on best test automation practices and researching and implementing solutions for our Quality Engineering efforts.
We are looking for an experienced SDET with strong API automated test skills to join our Quality Engineering team. As a team we support our development teams in building the company's next generation of SaaS applications. Our main objective is to speed up our delivery through automated tests: this helps our teams increase the velocity and confidence of their deliverables to production.
Key responsibilities:

• Guide teams on modern best practices of testing to identify and resolve gaps in test coverage at unit, integration and E2E/API layers (test trophy)
• Automate the majority of API critical flows to improve confidence in deliverables

• Work within the domain team to implement shared ownership of test tooling and test process improvements

• Develop our quality and testing culture towards the long-term goal of test autonomy within development teams

• Reduce manual testing as a dependency for deliverables to be Prod ready in development teams

Besides fun to work with, you...

• Have at least 4+ years of experience working with Playwright/RestAssured/Bruno/Postman/Karate or other modern API testing framework
• Have experience testing REST/GraphQL APIs and know how to increase coverage of tests within the API layer
• Understand how to scope necessary test coverage at each layer of the test trophy
• Appreciate the pivotal role test data architecture plays in robust automated test implementations
• Are autonomous and can think of and contribute structural improvements/fixes to test tooling and processes
• You are a collaborative team player, don't shy away from a good faith debate over the merit of your ideas
• You're proactive, result driven and excited to work in a fast-growing tech scale-up
• Great English communication skills (this is a must)
