Our client in the financial services sector is looking for a smart, driven, and curious Software Developer to join their high-performance engineering team in Sandton.
This role is ideal for someone who thrives in both technical depth and business impact - you will help build solutions that power real decisions in a fast-paced data-driven environment.
? What You'll Be Doing
- Contribute across the full software development lifecycle. design, build, test, optimise, and support
- Develop high-performance applications that process sensitive financial data
- Improve and optimise systems using modern development practices and technologies
- Think commercially and propose new ideas to enhance business applications
- Participate in internal knowledge-sharing, mentoring, and continuous improvement
- Run QA checks and testing before deployment to production
- Stay updated by participating in workshops, conferences, and educational programs
- Degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, IT (or proven equivalent experience)
- 3 years hands-on development experience in a modern web framework
- Experience with relational databases (PostgreSQL preferred)
- Strong problem-solving ability and a passion for clean, high-quality code
- A collaborative, trustworthy, people-oriented approach
- Python / Django
- Numpy / Pandas
- HTML, CSS, JavaScript
- Git / version control
- LaTeX
- Cybersecurity exposure
- Experience in financial services
