Social Sciences and English Teacher (Grades 4 to 6)

Maternity Cover | Term 1

The school requires a competent and dynamic Intermediate Phase Teacher to provide maternity cover during Term 1. The role focuses on delivering high-quality Social Sciences and English instruction to Grade 4 to 6 learners, ensuring continuity of learning and strong classroom management throughout the contract period.

Minimum Requirements

Relevant teaching degree or diploma (Intermediate Phase specialisation advantageous) Current SACE registration Minimum 2 years' experience teaching Social Sciences and English at Intermediate Phase level Clear criminal record and successful completion of all background checks Strong understanding of the curriculum for Grades 4 to 6 Confident in planning, teaching, assessing, and reporting within an established academic framework

Key Competencies

Ability to maintain stable classroom routines and uphold academic standards during the maternity cover period Strong lesson delivery for both content-heavy subjects (Social Sciences) and skill-based subjects (English) Effective learner engagement, differentiation, and discipline Excellent verbal and written communication, including parent and staff interactions Collaborative approach to working with the phase team and contributing to curriculum continuity Organised, professional, and capable of managing marking, assessments, and reporting deadlines
This temporary role is suited to a teacher with solid Intermediate Phase experience who can step in seamlessly and maintain a high-quality learning environment during Term 1.
