Position Summary
We are seeking a dynamic and creative Social Media Manager to lead our social media strategy across South Africa, Southern Africa, East Africa, and West Africa.
The ideal candidate will be passionate about building and engaging online communities, driving brand awareness, and leveraging social media platforms to achieve business objectives.
This role requires a blend of strategic thinking, creativity, and technical expertise to deliver impactful campaigns that resonate with diverse audiences.
Role and Responsibilities
Social Media Strategy
Develop and execute comprehensive social media strategies tailored to the African market, including South Africa, Southern Africa, East Africa, and West Africa. Identify and capitalize on emerging social media trends and platform features to enhance brand visibility.
Content Creation and Curation
Create engaging, culturally relevant content that aligns with brand values and resonates with diverse African audiences. Curate and manage content calendars across multiple platforms (e.g. Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, LinkedIn, TikTok).
Community Engagement
Build and nurture online communities by responding to comments, messages, and inquiries in a timely and professional manner. Foster positive relationships with followers and influencers to amplify brand reach.
Performance Monitoring and Optimization
Analyze social media metrics (e.g. engagement rates, reach, conversions) to assess campaign performance and optimize strategies. Provide regular reports to stakeholders with actionable insights.
Collaboration
Work closely with marketing, PR, and creative teams to ensure alignment across campaigns and initiatives. Collaborate with regional teams to adapt strategies for local markets.
Crisis Management
Develop and implement crisis communication plans to address potential social media issues swiftly and effectively.
