A digital publishing and conservation-focused media brand known for its compelling storytelling and immersive content about nature, wildlife, and travel is looking for a SOCIAL MEDIA INTERN to join their team
We are looking for a social media intern to join our team on a temporary 6-month contract basis, with potential for a full-time position.
Candidate Requirements:

• Relevant background in marketing, media, communications, or a related field
• A strong grasp of social platforms including Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn, YouTube, and Pinterest
• Excellent written English and meticulous attention to detail--especially for captions and scheduling
• Proficiency with basic graphic design tools (e.g., Canva)--especially for creating stories and Pinterest pins
• Confidence using scheduling tools like Meta Business Suite, Brandwatch, or similar
• Familiarity with project management platforms such as Trello
• Strong time management and a commitment to meeting deadlines
• A proactive, enthusiastic attitude with a willingness to learn and grow
• Genuine interest in sustainable travel and a passion for the African continent
• Self-motivation and the ability to collaborate effectively as part of a remote team
• Must have demonstrated backend social media experience (e.g. scheduling, analytics, content tools)
• Must be based in Hoedspruit area

Candidate Responsibilities:

• Managing comments, direct messages, and mentions across all social media channels
• Scheduling and publishing content across relevant social platforms
• Curating and posting 24-hour stories on Instagram and Facebook
• Assisting in content creation--image sourcing, copywriting, and basic design--for Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn, and Pinterest
• Supporting YouTube channel management and video uploads
