Social Media Intern

Job Description
Job Summary We are looking for a social media intern to join our team on a temporary 6-month contract basis, with potential for a full-time position.
Candidate Requirements:
- Relevant background in marketing, media, communications, or a related field
- A strong grasp of social platforms including Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn, YouTube, and Pinterest
- Excellent written English and meticulous attention to detail--especially for captions and scheduling
- Proficiency with basic graphic design tools (e.g., Canva)--especially for creating stories and Pinterest pins
- Confidence using scheduling tools like Meta Business Suite, Brandwatch, or similar
- Familiarity with project management platforms such as Trello
- Strong time management and a commitment to meeting deadlines
- A proactive, enthusiastic attitude with a willingness to learn and grow
- Genuine interest in sustainable travel and a passion for the African continent
- Self-motivation and the ability to collaborate effectively as part of a remote team
- Must have demonstrated backend social media experience (e.g. scheduling, analytics, content tools)
- Must be based in Hoedspruit area
- Managing comments, direct messages, and mentions across all AG and Ukuri social media channels
- Scheduling and publishing content across relevant social platforms
- Curating and posting 24-hour stories on Instagram and Facebook
- Assisting in content creation--image sourcing, copywriting, and basic design--for Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn, and Pinterest
- Supporting YouTube channel management and video uploads
