Job Summary Modderfontein Jhb Sales Diploma minimum 5 years in similar position Must have food industry exp Purpose of the Position: To create/ develop winning new products and maintain the existing product portfolio aligned with customer requirements by defining/ delivering technical solutions for business projects, on time in full, including implementation / optimisation at customer premises. To lead or participate in delivery of the technical aspects of projects that deliver the growth and profitability of the European Custom Culinary Business for specific strategic or targeted customers. To develop on-going relationships with these customers by providing a point of contact for customers technical function together with the Custom Culinary Marketing & Sales managers. To develop and manage an effective sales territory. Successful implementation of Operational plans set by Business Manager and Management by achieving the objectives for the various products sales targets in the identified market segments. Determine most accurate total buying potential for each customer in his/her territory and capture this information against the clients name on the Calling Cycle. Essential Duties and Responsibilities Take responsibility and leadership to manage portfolio of projects or customers. Escalate problems in timely fashion and come up with solutions proposals. Work collaboratively with marketing, sales, culinary and customers to define the gold standard to enable delivery of authentic, marketable, profitable products. Create, formulate, and provide process parameters for new products aligned with customer, legislative, and food safety requirements within the scope of company strategic areas and in conjunction with the Sales & Marketing departments. Maintain the basic business through formula optimization (price, quality), and/or range extensions, evaluation of new / alternative raw materials in product applications and reducing company complexity. Participate and engage fully in production trials of new products both internally and at customer locations; provides technical support in resolving on-going issues. A degree of travel and flexibility is required. Effective operation of computer systems including: timely entry of formula data into Apps to ensure effective commercialisation of new products; utilisation of the CRM system; sample management systems. Develop close working relationships with selected / assigned customers through regular direct contact thereby ensuring that the business understands the customers requirements (ingredient, product, and legislative restrictions), their operational processes and their technical requirements. Write and conduct presentations, workshops and trainings to the customer showing our products in application & a marketable format. Communicate and prepare technical reports (internal & external). Maintains accurate technical development records, both computer and paper based. Participate in the European Technical network contributing local country knowledge, technical expertise and promoting / supporting the effective exchange of ideas, opportunities, and operational best practice. Generate awareness of market and technical trends (via collaboration with sales and marketing) & develop / promote product concepts to fulfil the needs identified. Assist in the coaching & development of more junior members of the wider R&D team. Work to tight deadlines set by our customer & ensure that briefs are effectively met within stated timescales. Deal with production and supply chain such that the needs of projects are met. Proactively and visibly support the Health and Safety standards, rules and regulations of the organisation. Sales Activities Negotiate order within given and approved parameters. Execute promotional activities and liaise with Sales Manager if necessary. Initiate ad-hoc activities. Discuss sales performance (purchasing) and issues with customers Complete pricing surveys. Provide technical advice and demonstrate products. Provide solutions add value to customers, identify sales opportunities Generate visit reports, weekly and monthly reports Increase basket of products sold to customers. Sales Admin and Financial Control Update customer record cards and call cycle sheets. Collect debtors payments where necessary. Attend stock takes. Provide documentation for new accounts including credit application form new and updates. Attend sales meetings / conferences / training courses.
