Job Summary
An established manufacturing company is seeking an experienced and hands-on SMT Supervisor to manage its Surface Mount Technology (SMT) department situated in Pinetown, KZN. This is a key role in a fast-paced electronics production environment where quality, precision, and leadership are essential.
Responsibilities:

• Oversee daily SMT operations and meet production schedules
• Assign tasks to operators, inspectors, and material handlers
• Approve first-off builds and conduct quality checks in line with IPC standards
• Ensure compliance with internal SOPs, industry regulations, and customer specifications
• Manage SMT machine setup, programming, and preventive maintenance
• Lead daily production meetings and track performance against OTIF goals
• Supervise and develop a team of SMT Operators, Technicians, and Inspectors
• Collaborate with engineering to drive process and equipment improvements
• Ensure safety standards, housekeeping, and audit readiness are maintained

Requirements:

• Diploma or degree in Electronics, Manufacturing, or related field (preferred)
• 3-5 years of supervisory experience in SMT or electronics manufacturing
• Strong technical knowledge of SMT equipment, reflow soldering, AOI, and programming
• Familiarity with IPC standards and quality control systems
• Proficient in ERP/MRP systems and production planning
• Excellent leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills
• Flexible to work overtime as needed
