Job Description

Our client, a leading provider of comprehensive mining solutions servicing the mining and construction industry, is seeking an experienced Site Manager (2.6.1 Appointee) with 5-6 years of experience in Iron Ore and Manganese mining. This leadership role is responsible for ensuring safe, efficient, and legally compliant mining operations. The ideal candidate will hold a valid Blasting Certificate, possess excellent reporting skills, and demonstrate strong capabilities in employee motivation, discipline, and development. This is a Fixed Term Contract
Key Responsibilities
Legally appointed as per MHSA Section 2.6.1 to oversee mining operations.
Manage daily site activities to ensure safety, productivity, and compliance.
Lead and supervise operational teams across drilling, blasting, and production.
Implement and monitor blasting operations in line with safety and legal standards.
Compile and present detailed operational and compliance reports.
Foster a high-performance culture through employee motivation and development.
Enforce discipline and ensure adherence to company policies and procedures.
Collaborate with technical and support teams to optimize site performance.
Minimum Requirements
Blasting Certificate (Surface or Underground, as applicable).
5-6 years' experience in Iron Ore and/or Manganese mining.
Proven leadership in a mining environment with a strong safety record.
Strong report writing and analytical skills.
Demonstrated ability to motivate, discipline, and develop teams.
Knowledge of Mine Health and Safety Act and statutory compliance.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Preferred Skills & Attributes
Experience with open-pit mining operations.
Familiarity with production planning and cost control.
Strong understanding of mining legislation and compliance frameworks.
Ability to work in remote or challenging environments.
