Shopfrunt is a leading provider of bespoke shopfitting and interior solutions, transforming retail and commercial spaces through innovative design, expert craftsmanship, and end-to-end project execution.

We are looking for a skilled, experienced, and dependable carpenter to join our team full-time in the Johannesburg area. The right candidate must be confident in both workshop and site work, have proven ability to manage teams, solve problems on-site proactively, and maintain a clean, professional workspace. Spray painting knowledge is a bonus.

Key Responsibilities:

Manufacture and assemble custom cabinetry and joinery Operate power tools and carpentry equipment safely and efficiently Cut materials accurately according to cutting lists and drawings Perform high-quality on-site installations Lead small teams and ensure daily progress is made Maintain communication with project and production teams Ensure the workshop is clean, organised, and safe Ensure all work meets company quality standards and deadlines Keep and update a register of tools and company equipment (If applicable) Assist with spray painting and surface finishing

Requirements:

5+ years carpentry or cabinet-making experience Able to read and interpret shop drawings and cutting lists Computer literate (email, PDFs, drawings, spreadsheets) Operate panel saws and woodworking machinery accurately Valid South African driver's license Own reliable transport to and from work South African citizen or permanent resident only Honest, hardworking, reliable, and willing to work overtime Strong attention to quality, accuracy, and detail Able to manage small site teams and provide updates and feedback Able to think on their feet and solve problems on-site Maintain a clean workshop and keep a register of tools and company equipment
