Murray & Roberts Cementation invites suitably qualified candidates to apply for the position of Shift Supervisor, Grout Plant to be placed in Richard Shaft, near Northam, Limpopo. The successful candidate will report to the Site Superintendent. The company will provide remuneration and benefits relevant and appropriate to the position. Preference will be given to Historically Disadvantaged South African (HDSA) candidates. Applications only open to South African Citizens / Permanent Residents.
Job description
The successful candidate will be responsible for, but not be limited to:

• Effective supervision of the underground and surface Grout Plant crews
• Effective planning, leading, organising and control within area of responsibility to achieve daily production, quality and safety targets
• Cost containment through effective budget management and
• Accurate and timely reporting
• Effective stakeholder engagement to ensure smooth workflows and target achievement
• Efficient achievement of production and quality targets in line with DMR and project scope
• Ensure cost containment in section
• Self and team understand and comply with legal regulations and M&RC's standards, procedures, policies and safety protocols
• Proactive risk identification and mitigation in alignment with legal regulations, the client's and M&RC's standards, procedures and policies
• Effective Team and self-management and alignment with M&RC values and leadership initiative

Minimum requirements
Suitable candidates must possess the following minimum qualifications and skills:

• Grade 12 or equivalent NQF level 4
• Blasting Certificate / Trade Certificate / Technical Diploma / Project Management Certificate (preferred
• Proficient in MS Office (Word, Excel)
• Good English written and verbal communication skills
• Numeracy skills to perform basic arithmetic calculations
• No criminal record
• Physically fit to work underground, must have high heat tolerance
• Ability to work in confined spaces
• Valid Medical Certificate of Fitness to work undergroun

Suitable candidates must have the following work experience:

• At least 5 years of experience as a Charge hand Grout Plant
• Exposure acting as a Shift Supervisor Grout Plant
• Experience compiling risk assessments and safe working
• Experience conducting planned inspections
• Sound knowledge of Grout Plant operations, equipment and methods
• Invoicing and stakeholder's management
