Key Performance Areas (KPAs)

Safety, Health & Housekeeping

Adhere to safe work practices and maintain good housekeeping standards (6S). Ensure compliance with all safety regulations, company procedures, and legal requirements. Supervise the safe use and operation of machinery and equipment. Conduct required safety checks during start-up, operation, and shutdown. Sign off on cleaning teams and ensure cleanliness of the work area. Ensure shutdown clean-outs and housekeeping activities are complete correctly

Production and Operational Management

Take appointment of shift personnel in accordance with GMR requirements. Obtain, understand, and communicate the daily production plan to the team. Supervise employees, machinery, and materials to achieve daily production targets and required product specifications. Ensure optimal manpower utilization and request additional resources when required. Manage and follow the assigned production plan. Prioritise work to meet deadlines and immediately report deviations to the Production Superintendent. Take corrective action and inform management of any delays or operational issues. Ensure all operational and production data is accurately recorded and signed off during and at the end of the shift.

Quality Management

Liaise with Quality Controllers to monitor and maintain product quality. Ensure production is executed in accordance with SOPs and quality standards. Cost Control & Material Management Monitor operations to minimize waste and reduce unnecessary consumption. Ensure efficient use of materials and monitor material usage to support cost control objectives.


Minimum: Grade12(with Maths & Science) /N3/NQF4 and Technical skills/ Operational qualification * Steel Industry specific experience in Metal Coating Line, Utility Functions (3 Years supervisory Experience)
