A leading company in the FMCG and warehousing industry is looking for a SHE and Risk Administrator with a solid understanding of Health & Safety legislation and risk management practices to join their team in Johannesburg, Gauteng. The ideal candidate will support the operations team by ensuring compliance with health, safety, environmental, and risk standards across all onsite activities.
Responsibilities:
Administer and manage the Health & Safety inbox, accident forms, safety risks, and general queries.
Coordinate the development and communication of health & safety policies and procedures.
Support SHER (Safety, Health, Environment, Risk) awareness initiatives and ensure clear communication across the business.
Identify and report activities posing health and safety risks; implement corrective measures.
Conduct regular onsite inspections, identify non-compliance, and ensure environmental and equipment standards are met.
Compile detailed safety reports and maintain statutory training and reporting obligations.
Assist in planning and conducting risk assessments and audits, ensuring alignment with contractor management systems.
Recommend and implement mitigating actions and escalate direct policy violations.
Develop practical plans to address risks, prevent reoccurrence, and ensure ongoing compliance.
Ensure risk assessments for all equipment and operations are completed and regularly reviewed.
Requirements:
Grade 12 (Matric).
SAMTRAC certification.
National Diploma in Safety Management (advantageous).
Training in SHEQ systems (ISO 9001, ISO 14001, ISO 18001) - advantageous.
Proficiency in hazard identification, accident investigation, and first aid.
Minimum 3 years' experience in Health & Safety, Environmental, Risk Assessment roles within FMCG or warehousing.
Proficient in MS Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and email communication tools.
