Opportunity for an experienced SHEQ Manager with specific experience in underground vertical and incline shafts to join, reporting directly to the GM and as part of the management team at the mine. Minimum Requirements:National Diploma in Safety ManagementBTech Degree will be advantageous.Comsoc 1&2, SAMTRAC and other related safety coursesMinimum 5 yearsxe2x80x99 Safety Managerxe2x80x99s experienceValid certificate of physical fitness.Computer LiteracyVertical and Incline Shafts safety experienceRisk assessment techniques applicationAccident / Incident investigation experience. (Route Cause Analysis)Valid driverxe2x80x99s license Main Role Outcomes:Manage and implement the safety strategy for the mines to realise business objectivesEnsure that the teams analyse serious events, injuries, near misses, deviations according to section 11(5) MHS Act and follow the legal requirements as stipulated.Provide guidance with the investigation of causes, proposing counter-measures increasing Safety AwarenessEnsure that safety Inspections, audits are conducted and reports are tabulated and actionedEnsure that the safety strategy is disseminated within all Barberton Mines operationsEnsure that appropriate corrective actions are implemented, and effective preventative actions are taken to prevent future re-occurrences.Promote Team work through Performance monitoring systemAdvising Senior Management of Safety aspects and ensure compliance to legal and other requirementsEnsure that a Hazard identification and Risk assessment is conducted and reviewed on an annual basis and whenever is requiredCompile and review Mine health and Safety Act Legal appointmentsEnsure that Contractors comply with BML safety Policies and ProceduresManaging the development, implementation, and maintenance of a robust SHEQC Managements System (Optimal Solve).Manage Safety functional staff and accountable for the general management of BML Safety function including budget preparation, cost control, staff capability and performance assessments
