SHEQ Co-ordinator (Steel / Engineering, Production) – Brits North West - iS04W38RVJ Our Client requires the service of a suitably qualified / experienced SHEQ specialist POSITION: Permanent COMMENCEMENT: As soon as possible Role reports into: Factory Manager PURPOSE OF POSITION:
The successful candidate will be responsible to ensure that Safety, Health, the Environment and Quality become an integral part of the global operations standards through: Providing leadership, support and direction on SHEQ. JOB OBJECTIVES:
  • Guide the management teams throughout to establish the SHEQ Plan, considering: Plant, Company & Legislative requirements.
  • Support management and staff to implement the Site SHEQ plans.
  • Identify and develop the SHEQ Competency Matrix for the Site and manage the development and training against the Matrix.
  • Ensure SHEQ Best Operating Practices are adopted & implemented by: Providing a visible and continuous focus on behavioural safety and quality issues, Support and drive the SHEQ RoadMap to World Class Standards, Managing all SHEQ reporting requirements, Supporting line managers with their continuous improvement, through risk assessments, incident investigations, trending & analysing of incidents, near misses, Lead Safes.
  • Maintain all international and local standards programmes, including but not limited to: ISO 14001, ISO 9001, ENHESA DB and OHS 45001.
  • Perform audits of SHEQ compliance and support management to close out audit findings, as well as participate in the company SHEQ integrated auditing process as required.
  • Manage Corrective Action Reports for all audits, including all international and local standards programmes.
**Comprehensive responsibilities will be discussed with short-listed candidates who meet with the required criteria for this position. Valid SA Driver’s license required and clean criminal / credit record. MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:
  • Matric
  • A Safety Officer/Technician and SHEQ related qualification
  • The incumbent must have 5 - 10 years relevant
  • Experience in a SHEQ role
  • Experience with ISO and OHS standards an advantage
  • Experience in technical and systems auditing an advantage
  • Self-organized individual with high degree of individual responsibility and self-motivation
  • Good understanding of complex contexts
  • Strong communication skills, team-player with coordinating skills and assertiveness
  • Ability to work across a multi-functional organization
  • Willing to travel internationally
  • MS Office standard programmes Excel, Word, Outlook, Power Point, Access
  • MS special programmes: e.g. MS Visio, MS Sharepoint, MS Project
  • Excellent command of English- oral and written
