Purpose

The

SEWING TEAM LEADER

position is responsible for ensuring that production is scheduled for completion and is executed in a timely manner, within all quality parameters

Provide leadership and people management

Critical Results:

Assists in ensuring that sufficient staffing is available at all times to complete daily tasks.

Assists with adjustment of staff to ensure that production are completed timeously

Delegate tasks effectively to subordinates

Follow-up on delegated tasks of staff to ensure successful completion

Consistently meets with the Supervisor in analyzing production standards and work flow to anticipate problems, eliminate bottlenecks and make changes as needed.

Ensures that an appropriate level of inventory is maintained, and immediately notifies supervisor of any needed items

Assists with training of all new staff and assigns on-the-job training

Complete administrative and supervisory duties as relevant and appropriate

Follow and support the ISO, Health and Safety and Quality systems

Maintain departmental housekeeping standards

Perform other related duties as assigned

Ensure compliance to EHS standards

Maintain housekeeping

Required Skills and Experience

Grade 12 preferred, with 3-5 relevant working experience within the Clothing Industry

Previous experience in/ exposure to a similar role would serve to your advantage

Ability to effectively communicate both verbally and written with all levels of employees

Ability to read, analyze, and interpret production documents

Responsible, self-motivated and independent

Good interpersonal understanding

Ability to meet deadlines and work under pressure

Strong Planning and attention to detail

Good understanding of quality standards

Willingness to be developed and trained

Ability to multi-task

Basic computer literacy is essential
