Settlement & Reconciliation

Prepare, review, and process settlement transactions with shipping lines, customs authorities, transporters, and warehouse providers.

Reconcile clearing accounts, duty/VAT accounts, and freight charges against client billing.

Ensure accuracy and completeness of payments and receipts related to imports, exports, and local logistics services.

Investigate and resolve unmatched items, discrepancies, and disputed charges with operational teams.

Ensure all settlements are completed within agreed timelines and service-level agreements (SLAs).

Reporting & Analysis

Prepare daily, weekly, and monthly settlement and reconciliation reports.

Provide variance analysis of costs vs. client billing to management.

Support month-end closing and ensure correct allocation of settlement entries in the ERP/accounting system.

Stakeholder Management

Liaise with internal operations, customs clearing, and procurement teams on settlement-related queries.

Coordinate with external stakeholders, including shipping lines, transporters, customs authorities, and clients.

Escalate unresolved issues impacting settlements to the Finance Manager.

Maintain proper documentation for audits, statutory filings, and compliance reviews.

Identify process inefficiencies and recommend improvements to reduce settlement delays and errors.

Job Specifications

Minimum Academic, Professional Qualifications & Experience required for this position

Degree/Diploma in Accounting, Finance, or related field.

2-4 years' experience in settlements, reconciliations, or accounting.

Experience in financial services, payments, logistics, or related industries advantageous.

Knowledge of IFRS, GAAP, and relevant regulatory frameworks beneficial.

Pay: R10000,00 - R20000,00 per month
