Howden South Africa Division is looking for a

Service Technician Trainee

to gain experience in inspections, services, repairs and commissioning of Rotating Assemblies to Howden's specification in the Industrial and Mining Sector for Fixed Term Contract 12 months.

What Will You Do?


You will spend approximately 12 months in the Service Department to learn the basic aspects of service operations in the Mining and Industrial Sector.

Assist with service related tasks during equipment inspection, service, repair and commissioning, to ensure compliance to Howden Specifications. The tasks primarily include Fitting, Balancing, Laser Alignment and Testing.

Assist with quality related tasks within the Service Department. Tasks primarily include report writing, QCP reviews, root cause analysis and fault finding.

Must be able to successfully complete various mandatory training courses which include:

Health and Safety courses

Howden Product Training

Balancing and Alingment

Instrument Training

At all times adhere to Howden procedures, instructions, quality and safety standards.

Your Experience Should Be...


Grade 12 or N3

Qualified Fitter with Red Seal Certificate

N4 Qualification will be an advantage

Drivers License

Some experience working with rotating assemblies in an industrial, mining or power station environment

Good communication skills

Willingness to learn

Strong work ethic
