Job Description
Job Summary As a Service Technician, you'll handle a wide range of tasks to ensure smooth operation of HVAC and plumbing systems in complex facilities:
- Perform independent maintenance and repairs on HVAC systems, drinking water installations, and heat pumps.
- Order your own parts and materials for repair and service tasks.
- Maintain frequent contact with customers, answering questions and scheduling interventions.
- Diagnose and resolve malfunctions, including occasional emergency service (every 8 weeks, including evenings/weekends).
- Coordinate with the managing technician and engage subcontractors or colleagues when required for large or complex jobs.
Your technical insight and hands-on skills make all the difference for clients. You enjoy building long-term relationships, solving problems, and managing your own day-to-day schedule.
To qualify for this role, you should have:
- A Red Seal Certificate as a Millwright or HVAC Technician (or equivalent trade)
- At least 2 years of experience in mechanical building installation maintenance
- A valid driver's license
- Strong communication skills and a service-oriented mindset
- Willingness to rotate on-call for emergency services (1 week every 8 weeks)
- Fluent in Afrikaans and English - and motivated to learn Dutch
