Availability/notice periodMicrochem Specialized Lab Services seeks to recruit Food Technologists (Food Technology graduates only) with a clear criminal record and a valid driver's license for our Bellville lab. To serve as a Service Representative in our Business Development Department.Please do not apply if you do not have a clear criminal record and a valid driver's license.This position entails the following responsibilities:Responsible for all business sales activities, from lead generation through to closing sales, upselling and maintenance.Together with the Business Development Manager develops and implements Sales and Marketing plan which will meet the goals of expanding the customer base.Be a brand ambassador and maintain company image.Managing new client relationships from prospecting to account management.Thorough understanding of all chemical and microbiological analyses carried out by the company.INHERENT REQUIREMENTS OF THE JOBCustomer centric attitude.Technical sales experience (micro and chemical) will be an advantage.Food manufacturing experience.Excellent interpersonal communication skills.Target driven.Ability to adapt to diverse situations and settings with ease.Confident, personable demeanour.Flexible and innovative approach to work.Leadership and people management skills.Excellent problem-solving abilities.Strong organisational abilities.Detail orientated.Strong ability to work in a team.Computer literate - MS Office Suite.KEY PERFORMANCE INDICATORSClient RelationshipNew client prospecting. Targeting new business based on monthly market segments.Targeting new business based on industry changes, updates, and historical norms. Quotations for new clients.New client induction. Assisting clients with the completion of new client forms.Assisting new clients with Finance information for Microchem procedures and policies. Confirmation with new clients, sample loggers, and laboratory for POs before logging and lab releasing of results. Resolving outstanding queries. Follow up with all new clients regarding their first-time interaction with Microchem. Resolving any queries if complaints are raised.New client interactions. Resolving all queries and customer complaints for new clients.Monthly follow up meetings with all new clients. Reports to be populated for new VIP clients and to be discussed with senior representatives in monthly external meetings.Sales ManagementSales of all laboratory services.10% increase of annual sales each year.Develops a market-segmented database of leads/prospective clients.????Compile and maintain a database of leads by referrals, telephone calls, face-to-face cold calling on business owners, email, and networking.Develop a market segmented data base of existing clients. Compile and maintain a market segmented data base of existing clients to communicate more effectively with clients.Stay abreast of latest industry developments. Form and maintain relationships with vital role players through continuous contact and interaction.Gain understanding of pricing and quotation system and LIMS. Demonstrate ability to compile quotation and navigate the LIMS system.Feedback to Managing Director and Senior managers on all matters affecting the department. Submit weekly reports no later than close of business on the last working day of each week recording all sales, prospective activities, sales calls, presentations, closed sales and follow-up activities.Reports and feedback to be completed daily on Sales and Hygiene Drive. Attend weekly feedback meeting. To update on new client information.Optimizing efficiency and systems. Monthly reports to be compiled of monthly sales activities and saved on the sales drive.Understanding issues in various departments and finding suitable workable solutions.Customer ServiceSell consultatively to prospective clients and existing clients. Make recommendations of the various tests and services offered by Microchem based on the needs of the client's business.Assist and guide new clients with the requirements of the account opening process and filling the request form in order to commence with analysis without delay. Zero hold up with commencing analysis due to incomplete client information forms and request forms.Providing technical support to clients and facilitate their understanding of analyses. Assist clients telephonically and return phone calls within 30 minutes of receiving messages and reply to emails within 2 hours of receipt.Monthly meetings to be held with VIP clients and documented on the sales drive after every meeting.Build strong lasting relationships with customers, always go the extra mile. Be professional and courteous in all forms of communication. Call from time to time informing them of what is going on in the business.
