Delivers and commissions fully developed PLC code and associated Human Machine Interface (HMI/Scada) systems as part of a larger Engineering group. Provides input on platform selection to deliver best solution and required licenses selection. Can also be involved in the PLC panel designs and component selection.

Responsibilities of the Role

Completes broad scope of technical tasks including installation/commissioning, maintenance and evaluation of customers equipment and systems among others (after PM100).

Determines priorities of tasks and actions and schedules measures accordingly.

Supports customer remotely and onsite and provides 2nd and 3rd level user support in case of arising issues.

Contributes to or conducts the maintenance and improvement of internal tools, equipment, processes, and data repositories.

Contributes to or executes activities for estimation, planning, and review of technical tasks in support of overall project acquisition, negotiation, planning and management (partly before PM100).

Adheres to relevant processes and regulations.

May manage sub-contractors and monitors delivery.

May be involved in technical design and developments for service offerings.

Ensures continuous knowledge sharing with team members in accordance with a proactively managed skills matrix

Continuously follows industry and technology developments, and ensures adoption of latest trends and innovations

Continuously looking for process improvements and stimulating innovative thinking within the team to maximise productivity and efficiency

Participate in clients design studies, HAZOP, and other activities as trusted advisor

Travel to sites (within SA and cross border) for installation & commissioning, site audits, project & tender meetings, IFAT, CFAT, SAT etc

Will be required to work extended hours on site as required on projects due to critical deadlines during installation & commissioning phases

Exposure in the design, development, and deployment of Siemens Simatic TIA Portal with

5 year working experience

Simatic PCS7 experience been an advantage

Experienced in the application of integrated engineering environments and tools, including system simulation for test and training purposes

Additional Siemens product knowledge would be an advantage (Step7, WinCC with other products such as Simocode, Soft Starters, VSDxe2x80x99s)

Good understanding electrical drawings, P&IDxe2x80x99s, PFDxe2x80x99s

Able estimate effort required to complete scope of work

Manage small teams of subcontractors on site installations
