Job Description

My client, an established company that was founded more than 30 years ago, prides itself on their great working environment. Their solutions include guidance and assistance to customers in the mining sector. This includes IT strategies, installing and commissioning IT equipment, and the maintenance and support thereof.

They require an experienced SERVER ENGINEER, who will be based at their Head Office in Pretoria East. Travelling to remote sites will be required. Own vehicle is essential.

The successful person will be working with a team of IT specialists to design, set up, and maintain a network of computers, including hardware, software, conferencing support and system architecture. They will also be responsible to:

- Oversee the development and installation of new networking and computing infrastructures.

• Select the best possible solutions using knowledge of a wide range of available technologies.
• Monitor systems in the existing network to ensure there are no productivity setbacks.
• Install and configure operating systems and application software.
• Implement best practices for system security and data backups.
• Anticipate potential issues or bottlenecks and identify possible solutions.
• Troubleshoot and resolve all technical issues when they arise.
• Liaise with vendors and keep relevant stakeholders up to date with developments.

• 5 Years + Industry Experience - strong focus on server management
• Experience with Microsoft Active Directory user management
• Office365 and Exchange mailbox administration
• Working knowledge of Desktop infrastructure and Microsoft ecosystems. (Microsoft Office and Windows)
• Experience with client and server backup software.
• Experience with managed Antivirus solutions.
• Azure and Office 365 environment administration.
• Sharepoint administration

• Senior certificate
• Relevant Microsoft Certifications: MS Azure, MCSE, CCNA, A+, N+ or other relevant IT Qualifications

• A driverxe2x80x99s license and own transport are essential.
• Must be willing to work after hours.
• Must be willing to travel to work at remote sites.
