About the opportunity

As an experienced, results-driven SEO / Digital Marketing Specialist at Power of 9, reporting to the Managing Creative Director, you will lead and execute digital strategies for various clients' brands across multiple channels and manage our digital marketing team. Your responsibilities will include driving organic and paid digital marketing performance and optimising our clients' digital assets to improve reach, engagement, and ROI.

This is a Cape Town based, in office position, working hours:

8:30 am - 5 pm; Monday - Friday, overtime may be required



Key responsibilities include, but are not limited to:



Search Engine Optimisation (SEO):



Research :

Identify new content opportunities through keyword research, discovery, and expansion. Conduct competitor and industry research to keep ahead of industry trends and SEO strategies

On-site optimisation:

Optimise website content, landing pages, meta tags and structure

Content creation:

Work with content creators to develop SEO-friendly website content

Link building:

Develop strategies to build high-quality backlinks

Technical SEO:

Work with dev and tech teams to ensure clients' websites are technically optimised for search engines

Reporting and analysis:

Use analytical tools to monitor and analyse performance metrics to identify trends and deliver actionable insights. Provide recommended technical and content changes based on data to improve search engine rankings



Paid digital marketing:



Research:

Stay current on best practices and trends in paid marketing

Strategy:

Develop paid digital marketing strategies to deliver on clients' KPIs

Campaign management:

Set up, manage, and optimise ad campaigns on various platforms, such as Google and Meta. Allocate and monitor budgets to ensure ROI. Execute A/B and multivariate tests using different creative assets, targeting options and bidding strategies to improve campaign performance. Identify relevant keywords and refine targeting to optimise engagement and conversions

Performance analytics and reporting:

Use analytics tools and platforms to track performance. Interpret and analyse data to identify areas for improvement, inform marketing strategies, and generate reports on KPIs and ROI across multiple channels

Compliance:

Safeguard clients' brands by ensuring compliance with Google and Meta policies



Email marketing:



Develop and execute email marketing strategies that drive engagement and conversion

Work with creative content creators to build campaigns, advising on design and templates, content, including subject lines, and targeting strategies such as personalisation, automation and remarketing

Conduct A/B tests to optimise performance and improve engagement rates. Track and analyse email campaign performance for continuous improvement

Generate reports with strategic insights. Ensure compliance with all POPIA and GDPR requirements



Social media marketing:



Create and oversee the implementation of clients' social media strategies across Facebook, Instagram, TikTok, LinkedIn, Pinterest, and YouTube

Stay current on social media features and trends, and share knowledge with creative and content teams

Ensure content adheres to clients' brand and editorial guidelines and best practices.

Analyse social media metrics, make data-driven decisions to refine strategies and content plans

Generate informative, insightful reports



Team management:



Lead, mentor, and manage a digital marketing team of digital account managers (social media and email marketers) and website administrators, to ensure superior content performance across all clients' digital platforms

Day-to-day staff management; fostering a collaborative, productive and empowering working environment

Ensure the team is well-versed in all forms of marketing and media and is encouraged to stay current on trends

Set, guide and record key performance indicators for each team member

Provide strategic support and guidance to your team to find creative and robust solutions to challenges, troubleshooting, problem solving, and crisis management, as well as when a situation needs to be escalated to the Creative Director for resolution

REQUIREMENTS

Proven experience in SEO, digital marketing, and team management

Strong understanding and experience of current digital marketing tools and platforms such as Google analytics, Google ads, Google tag manager, Search console, Meta business manager, Meta ad manager, SEMrush, Screaming frog, HotJar, Everlytic, Sprout, BrandWatch etc.

Success in managing multiple projects across various digital platforms and brands

Practical experience with CMS platforms and basic HTML/CSS knowledge is an advantage



Qualifications:



Tertiary qualification in digital marketing or a related field

Google ads and/or Google analytics qualification
