Job Description


Sensory

Recruit, screen, train and manage Sensory panels.

Develop a competent group of tasters (sensory panel) across functions to carry out the tasting for raw materials, WIP and finished products.

Conduct not only triangle test (sensory methods) when the process or an ingredient has changed to identify if there is a significant difference.

Check panel performance of each panel at least once per year and re-train panellists who need further training.

Approve standards when a new standard has to be selected by performing a triangle test to prove similarity.

Compile all sensory reports for the plant.

Shelf Life testing and management with Stress Tests evaluation.

Responsible for the tasting of raw materials, WIP and finished products.

Conduct, record and share retention tests with R&D.

Management of daily sensory evaluations

Raw Material

Approve and maintain the Halaal Standard when a new ingredient arrive at the plant.

Compiling NCRs for rejected Raw Materials.

Liaising with Suppliers for any Raw Material deviations and compliance.

Responsible for the tasting of raw materials, WIP and finished products.

Evaluation of Incoming Raw Material

Comparing results with COAs, issuing rejection notices and quality warnings. Sending raw material samples to external labs for analysis at regular intervals.

Consumer and Customer Complaints

Investigate consumer complaints with the team and respond timely.

Drive reduction of Consumer Complaints of factory origin (Consumer Complaints per Million units sold).

Initiate and drive Preventative action plans for Top 3 complaints monthly(number).

Identify complaints root cause and support the implementation of corrective and preventive actions for repetitive trending

Evaluate effectiveness of actions plans.

Maintain customer complaint statistics by applying Pareto analysis identify top 3 main contributors to consumer complaints and trigger improvement projects.

Discuss consumer complaints with operators in formal sessions and solicit for bottom-up proposals to reduce and eliminate complaints.

Analyse complaint data & draw trends at the end of every month and submit to the Quality Manager.

Raise the awareness in the plant on consumer complaints and sensitize staff.

Required Skills

Degree/ Diploma in Food Science/Food Technology/Biotechnology qualification

5 yearsxe2x80x99 experience in a food manufacturing facility.

Experience in dairy manufacturing and sensory analysis.

Basic computer skills.

Good written and verbal communication skills.

Basic report writing and good communication skills.

Sound knowledge of HACCP, Food Safety, and ISO 22000, FSSC 22000.
