Senior/Principal Resource Geologist - Mining - Northern Cape An exciting opportunity for an experienced Resource Geologist or Mineral Resource Manager who is looking for a key management role in a world class base metal district. Purpose and Scope of the Role The Senior/Principal Resource Geologist will lead the Mineral Resource Function for our client and ensuring that the business develops and maintains a strong mineral resource base, which can enable and support clientxe2x80x99s ambitious growth vision.
Key Responsibilities

• Undertaking of geological modelling and resource estimations for various mine operations and projects Northern Cape.
• Preparation of resource estimation reports and Competent Person sign-off.
• Provision of guidance, mentoring and supervision to junior resource geologists.
• Contributes to subject matter reports in relation to external due diligence studies, as well as in-house concept & feasibility studies.
• Consolidation of the companyxe2x80x99s resources and reserve estimates and maintenance of a R&R database.
• In-depths analysis of year-on-year R&R changes.
• Provision of guidance to operations and exploration teams on technical best-practice and ensuring compliance to JORC standards on all operations.
• Management of data validation and data compilation projects related to drill hole databases.

Key Requirements for the Role

• University degree in Geology (Masterxe2x80x99s degree or higher preferred).
• Professional registration with a recognized international body, and ability to sign off on Mineral Resource Estimates as a Competent / Qualified Person.
• 15 years of experience in the mining industry, of which 8 years are related to conducting mineral resource estimations.
• Good general Geo-scientist with ability to integrate other technical disciplines (e.g. Geotech, Geomet, mining).
• Multi-commodity experience with significant experience related to base metal deposits.
• Detailed knowledge of international Mineral Resource and Reserve reporting codes and best practice resource evaluation techniques.
• Competence in one or more software packages such as Datamine, Surpac, Gemcom, Micromine, Leapfrog, or Vulcan.
• Excellent report writing, communication, and time management skills.
