Job Description

Job Purpose:

We're looking for a highly skilled Senior Upholsterer to join our team and bring our furniture to life. This is a hands-on role with a leadership edge - you'll craft, repair, and restore upholstered pieces to the highest standard, while mentoring junior team members and ensuring every piece meets our signature quality.

Key Accountabilities:

Lead the repair, restoration, and assembly of upholstered furniture. Work with fabrics, padding, and trimmings for durability, comfort, and style. Train and guide junior upholsterers. Ensure that instructions provided by the Supervisor are relayed and carried out by your respective team(s). Motivate your team members to uphold the required level of production. Compare the quality of the work performed by your team against the job sheet (Right first-time principle). Maintain discipline and work ethics within the team.

Skills Required:

Matric (Grade 12) 8-10 years of upholstery experience, ideally in a senior role. Good knowledge of health and safety procedures. Must be able to read technical drawings and job sheets. Must be able to check quantity and quality of jobs before leaving workstation. Proficient in sewing, webbing, padding, and fabric installation. Strong eye for detail, precision, and craftsmanship. Leadership and mentoring experience are advantageous.
