Minimum requirements

Matric
Accommodation certificate / Hotel School Diploma is advantageous
Minimum 4 years experience in a similar position withing the luxury hotel sector
Familiar with the duties and responsibilities of the reservations department in a hotel

Duties and responsibilities

Property knowledge of all client brands and products
Maintain a high level of customer service
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Assist in investigating and resolving customer complaints
Promote and sell client products and services using up-selling and suggestive selling techniques
Quotations to be done accurately
Confirmations and pro-forma invoices issued on time and according to procedure and payment schedules
Follow up and hand over of all details of groups to property management and events to the relevant operations manager
Accurately record and process reservations from all channels on to the OPERA system
Booking of transfers
Process amendments to reservations, e.g. extensions, early departures etc.
Manage No Showxe2x80x99s
Dealing with special requests
Liaise with credit and finance departments if credit approval is needed
Follow up on provisional bookings
Accept waitlist reservations, record and follow up on PMS
Complete monthly OTA reconciliations
