Job SummaryHire Resolve's client, a leading consulting engineering firm, is seeking a highly skilled Senior Traffic and Transport Engineer to join their team in Cape Town.Overview:Seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Traffic and Transport Engineer to join the dynamic team. The candidate will have a crucial role in leading and managing transportation projects. They should possess expertise in traffic engineering, transport planning, and infrastructure design. The ideal candidate would also have a solid background in traffic analysis, modeling, and simulation. Additionally, it is important that they have a proven track record of delivering projects successfully, completing them within the allocated time and budget.Responsibilities:

• Leading and conducting traffic and transport engineering projects from conception to completion
• Conduct traffic impact assessments, traffic signal optimization and road safety audits
• Studying and analyzing traffic data to propose improvements including volume counts, capcity analysis and traffic flow modelling
• Designing and optimizing traffic signal timings and coordination plans
• Collaborating with multidisciplinary teams for transportation infrastructure projects
• Preparing technical reports and presentations to communicate findings and recommendations
• Keeping up-to-date with industry standards and regulations in traffic and transport engineering
• Offer mentorship and guidance to junior team members, nurturing their growth and professional development.

Requirements

• Relevant Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Transport Engineering or related field
• Minimum of 8 years of experience in traffic and transport engineering
• Professional registration (Pr Eng or Pr Tech Eng) with ECSA will be beneficial
• Strong proficiency in traffic engineering software and tools (e.g. AutoCAD, Sidra)
• Experience with traffic modeling (Vissim/Visum) is a plus
