Senior Systems Specialist - Inventory & Cloud Systems

This role is for an experienced systems and implementation specialist who thrives at the intersection of finance, technology, and process optimisation.
As a Senior Systems Specialist at Iridium, you'll own complex system implementations, lead client engagements end-to-end, and act as a trusted advisor to high-growth SMEs. You'll play a key role in solution design, technical leadership, and mentoring junior team members, while helping shape Iridium's systems capability and best practices.
This is an ideal role for someone who enjoys solving complex problems, leading projects, and designing scalable system architectures in a fast-paced, cloud-first environment.
What you'll be doing

• Client Discovery & Requirements Leadership - Lead in-depth discovery sessions to understand client operations, inventory flows, financial processes, and reporting needs.

• Solution Architecture & Design - Design end-to-end system solutions, selecting and integrating best-fit cloud platforms and apps.

• Technical Implementation Ownership - Configure and customise cloud systems, oversee data migrations, manage integrations, and ensure data integrity.

• Project Leadership - Own implementation projects from scoping through go-live, managing timelines, risks, and stakeholder expectations.

• Client Onboarding & Advisory - Lead onboarding, guide clients through change, and provide strategic advice on system and process optimisation.

• Training & Enablement - Deliver advanced training to clients and internal teams, and develop scalable documentation and SOPs.

• Mentorship & Leadership - Coach and support Junior and Intermediate Systems Specialists, providing technical guidance and quality review.

• Stakeholder Management - Act as the senior point of contact for clients, vendors, and internal teams during implementations.

• Continuous Improvement & Innovation - Drive improvements in implementation methodologies, tools, templates, and internal systems.

• Pre-Sales & Scoping Support - Support sales and advisory teams with solution scoping, effort estimation, and technical input.

What you bring

• Degree or Honours in Accounting, IT, Information Systems, or a related field.
• 2+ years' experience in systems implementation, accounting technology, ERP, or inventory systems.
• Proven experience leading end-to-end system implementations, ideally including inventory-heavy environments.
• Strong experience with cloud accounting ecosystems, such as:

• Xero (essential)
• Inventory & POS systems (e.g. Cin7 Core, Lightspeed, DEAR, Unleashed)
• Supporting apps (e.g. Dext/Hubdoc, SimplePay, reporting or integration tools)

• Advanced data migration and data integrity skills.
• Strong Excel and data analysis capability.
• Demonstrated project management experience across multiple concurrent implementations.
• Confident, professional client-facing presence with the ability to advise senior stakeholders.
• A solution-oriented mindset with strong commercial awareness.
• Passion for mentoring others and raising the capability of the team.
• Comfortable working independently and taking ownership of outcomes.
