SUMMARY:
Systems Integration Engineer - Java | Financial Tech | Cape Town & Johannesburg
POSITION INFO:
Overview of the Role
We are recruiting for Senior Systems Integration Engineer X 2 (Johannesburg & Cape Town), responsible for delivering end-to-end Java-based system integration projects for key clients. The successful candidate will play a strategic and hands-on technical role, partnering closely with clients to understand their design process and business goals, and delivering total system solutions aligned to their environment and infrastructure.
This is a client-facing role, ideal for a technically skilled software professional with strong Java experience, a consulting mindset, and a passion for problem solving and system design.
Key Responsibilities

• Deliver integration support for moderately complex client engagements.
• Analyse business goals, needs, and infrastructure to recommend and design integrated systems solutions.
• Lead or contribute to integration efforts involving software, methodologies, processes, and hardware components.
• Use deep Java development expertise to evaluate and implement alternative technology design options.
• Participate in project teams and take the lead on well-defined system integration initiatives.
• Make operational and technical decisions related to procedures, workflows, testing, and debugging.
• Provide consulting support to clients, including identifying business needs and developing technical proposals.

Qualifications & Experience Required

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology.
• Minimum of 4-6 years of experience in Systems Integration or Software Development.
• Extensive hands-on experience in Java (C# and MVC are a bonus).
• Experience with Postilion is an added advantage.
• Prior exposure to ATM Software environments is ideal.
• Must have client-facing experience.
• Excellent communication skills, both written and spoken business English.
• Must possess a valid driver's license and own transport.
