Job Description

:
The Senior System Administrator is responsible for the design, implementation, maintenance, and optimization of the company's IT infrastructure to ensure reliable, secure, and efficient operations across retail and corporate environments. This role requires strong expertise in Microsoft Windows platforms, Fortinet security solutions, HPE server/storage systems, enterprise networking, and Microsoft 365/identity management services. The successful candidate will act as a technical lead, providing Level 3 support, guiding junior IT staff, and driving technology improvements that support the company's retail operations and strategic objectives.
Infrastructure & Systems Administration

• Install, configure, monitor, and maintain Windows Server environments, including virtualization (VMware/Hyper-V) and clustering.

• Manage and support HPE ProLiant servers and storage, including iLO remote management and firmware/patch updates.

• Oversee performance monitoring, capacity planning, and preventive maintenance of infrastructure systems.

Network & Security Administration

• Administer Fortinet solutions, including FortiGate firewalls, FortiAP wireless access points, and related security appliances.

• Manage Aruba switches, Cisco switches/routers, and network segmentation/VLAN configuration.

• Implement and maintain network security best practices, intrusion prevention, and traffic monitoring.

Cloud Services & Identity Management

• Administer Microsoft 365 tenant (Exchange Online, SharePoint, OneDrive, Teams) with a focus on security and compliance.

• Manage hybrid identity environments integrating on-premises Active Directory with Entra ID (Azure AD).

• Implement identity security measures, including MFA, conditional access, and role-based access controls.

Retail & Branch IT Operations

• Ensure the availability and performance of retail systems, including POS servers, store connectivity, and branch network equipment.

• Provide advanced troubleshooting and Level 3 escalation for IT issues impacting retail and back-office operations.

Backup, Recovery & Compliance

• Manage enterprise backup solutions for on-premises systems and Microsoft 365 data.

• Test and maintain disaster recovery plans and ensure compliance with internal IT policies, retail industry standards, and data protection regulations.

Documentation & Process Management

• Maintain detailed technical documentation, diagrams, and standard operating procedures.

• Support IT process improvements and participate in project planning, system upgrades, and technology migrations.

Requirements
Required:

• Extensive experience as a Senior System Administrator or similar role in a multi-site retail or enterprise environment.

• Strong knowledge of Microsoft Windows Server, Active Directory, Group Policy, DNS, DHCP.

• Hands-on expertise with Fortinet products (FortiGate, FortiAP, and preferably FortiAnalyzer).

• Proven experience managing HPE server/storage infrastructure, including iLO.

• Proficiency with Aruba and Cisco networking technologies.

• Strong Microsoft 365 administration skills, including Exchange Online, Teams, SharePoint, and security settings.

• Experience with Entra ID (Azure AD) hybrid identity management.

Preferred:

• Relevant certifications: Fortinet NSE, Microsoft Certified (Windows Server or M365 Administrator), HPE ASE, Cisco CCNA, Aruba ACSP.

• Experience with ITIL-based incident/change management.

• Knowledge of virtualization technologies (VMware or Hyper-V).

Work Conditions:

• Based at corporate office with periodic travel to retail store locations.

• On-call availability for critical incidents and after-hours maintenance.
