We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Financial Consolidation and Financial Planning Specialist to join our Technology Business Partner finance function. This role is crucial in ensuring accurate financial reporting and effective financial planning processes within the organization. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in finance, excellent analytical skills, and experience in financial consolidation and planning.
To provide the Technology Business Unit with financial planning and analysis support to ensure effective short- and long-term planning as well as detailed financial analysis to meet VSA and Technology business objectives.
The Senior Specialist (SS) will work directly with CTO office, Network Operations teams, finance operations, Central FP&A and finance BI teams to ensure sound business decisions are made on business partnering aspects, proactive risk management and coordination of deadlines. The SS is responsible to provide and enable reporting, analysis and forecasts that are accurate, congruent, reliable and easily accessible.
They must develop an in-depth understanding of the business environment, be assertive in coordinating quality deliverables on time, have strong analytical and communication skills and drive strategic alignment to all VSA objectives. Individual must work well within a team environment.
Your responsibilities will include:

Financial Consolidation of 12 business areas supporting the Technology business:
+ Oversee the consolidation of financial statements for multiple entities within the organization
+ Ensure compliance with relevant accounting standards and regulations
+ Prepare consolidated financial reports and analysis for management review
+ Maintain and improve consolidation processes and systems
Financial Planning:
+ Develop and manage the annual budgeting and forecasting processes
+ Provide financial analysis and insights to support strategic decision-making
+ Monitor and report on financial performance against budgets and forecasts
+ Collaborate with various departments to gather financial data and develop financial models
Reporting and Analysis:
+ Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports for internal and external stakeholders
+ Analyze financial data to identify trends, risks, and opportunities
+ Support the preparation of financial presentations for senior management and board meetings
+ Collaboration with TEP team to finalisation savings and risk views
Compliance and Controls
+ Ensure adherence to internal controls and financial policies
+ Proactively prepare team for accounting policy and control changes
+ Assist in the development and implementation of financial policies, procedures and controls
+ Conduct periodic reviews and audits to ensure compliance and accuracy
Supporting the Managing Executive and Executive Heads with budget
development, budgetary control, forecasting, financial modelling, and the development, design and implementation of systems and controls, financial policies and procedures:
+ Prepare, analyse, monitor and report financial information including budgets, expenditure forecasts and cost control
+ Identify and report on expenditure, budget and variations as well as implementing monitoring processes to provide for effective budget and cost management.
Monthly Financial Forecasts
+ Coordinate inputs and models for all cost lines that feed into financial forecasts.
+ Understand sensitivity drivers and model impact on forecasts.
+ Track detailed risks and opportunities with financial impact
+ Track one-offs per monthly and cumulative YTD to evaluate and present normalised views to better understand the impact of cost containment initiatives
+ Manage views with TEP on the savings plan split between low, medium and high risk
+ Prepare the cost steer co submission packs for Central FP&A
+ Represent Tech FBP in monthly run-rate meetings with Central FP&A
Annual OPEX Budgets & Long-Range Plans (LRP) for VSA Technology
+ Coordinate cost model inputs into annual OPEX Budget process
+ Develop and update cost models supporting the Budget planning model
+ Deliver detailed baseline analysis, waterfall analysis of cost trends (reporting)
+ Coordinate walks from different business areas on Qlik and Powerpoint to aid in the narrative building on demand versus expectations and vendor negotiations
+ Prepare the reporting packs for Central FP&A submissions
+ Prepare OPEX submissions for CAR pack inclusion
Benchmarking
+ Work on Annual Technology OPEX Benchmark and TCO views with respective area FBPs
+ Assist with VF and VSA mobile benchmarking
Assist the finance team, as required, with special projects and ad hoc initiatives
The ideal candidate for this role will have:

B-Commerce in finance, accounting, CIMA or equivalent
At least 5 years' experience in financial consolidation, financial planning, and analysis (ICT industry advantageous)
Proficient in financial consolidation software and ERP systems
Strong understanding of accounting principles and financial reporting standards.
Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Detail-oriented with a high degree of accuracy.
Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and other financial analysis tools
Experience in Budgeting and Forecasting
Experience in financial and business information analysis
Experience in financial modelling and business partnering
Work Environment:
This role requires a high level of attention to detail and the ability to work under tight deadlines. The successful candidate will be an integral part of the Tech finance team and will collaborate with various departments to ensure effective financial reporting and planning processes.
